Penny Black – Joy Serwylo

December 2, 2010

Joy Serwylo is our sixth Penny Black participant and lives/works in the hills at the eastern edge of Melbourne, Australia.  She uses textiles, paper and old books to create artworks. To earn a living, however, Joy makes teeny-weeny dolls.  Exhibitions in 2009 included “Paper cuts,” Pigment gallery (Melbourne) and “In the Beginning” at the Burrinja Cafe (Upwey).  The photo above is Joy’s response to Project 2.
