In The Works…

November 7, 2010

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our recent exhibition ‘In The Light’ with Carolyn Gardiner.  It was lovely to see familiar and new faces enjoying the works and the gallery and Carolyn’s show was a real success.  Just a reminder too, we have one more exhibition before the end of the year – so if you have been wanting to get down to the gallery but haven’t had a chance, keep some time between the 4th and 11th of December free as you won’t want to miss this show (excellent Xmas present possibilities too!).  More on this to follow soon!

But in the meantime, I’d like to direct you to another show in town – ‘Last Dream, Lost Memory’, photography by Pia Robinson.  Pia is an amazing photographer and her works cross the boundary between straight ‘photography’ and art – merging imagery to create panorama’s that verbalise the essence of a place.  I’ve already bought one of her works from this exhibition and I can highly recommend a visit.  Her show is part of the relaunch of the Gallery at 62 Robertson Street, the Fortitude Valley and runs till the 27th of November.  See Pia’s website for more details.

And finally, a big thank you to BAD, Impress and the Print Council of Australia for helping to get the word out there about the gallery!  It is truly appreciated.  The gallery is really starting to gain momentum and we have some exhibitions scheduled for next year which are truly going to be highlights for Brisbane’s art circuit.  More on this to come with some exciting studio projects in the works too!
