And We Open…

March 29, 2010

We are open!!!  Please come by and say hello this week – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (noon to 6pm) and Easter Saturday (10am to 4pm) while the PINE APPLES exhibition is still showing.  Get in quick though as we will be closed the week after so I can attend this and present a short talk here.

Photos of the private party that was held to celebrate the completion of the studio and the PINE APPLES exhibition coming to town will be up on here soon.  I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank publicly our local Councillor, Fiona King, for her speech which reflected exactly my thoughts on what Myrtle Street Studio is all about – community involvement with the arts and realising that Brisbane is really THE place to be (and work) in Australia at the moment if you are an emerging artist.  Many thanks also goes to Impress Printmakers Studio President – Jenny Sanzaro-Nishimura, for her well-rounded and informative speech on the PINE APPLES exhibition.  Patricia Zuber from Church Studio Franklin for offering me the opportunity to co-direct this exhibition with her and all the contributing artists from Hunter Island Press and Impress for being so willing to take part.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me getting this far with MSS (you know who you are) and to Amanda for the informative and thoughtful write-up she did on her blog about the studio and the exhibition – you can check it out here!
