PINE APPLES Exhibition

February 21, 2010

I’m very pleased to present the first exhibition Myrtle Street Studio has been involved in organising!  ‘PINE APPLES – From Pineapples to the Apple Isle’ was conceived by Patricia Zuber of Church Studio Franklin (in Tasmania) and myself as a collaborative exhibition project between Hunter Island Press (HIP), Tasmania and Impress Printmaker’s Studio, Brisbane.

Thirty-six printmakers from both printmaking studios will be exhibiting their work over two locations over the next two months.  The first exhibition will be shown at Church Studio Franklin from the 27th of February to the 7th of March and then (hopefully) at Myrtle Street Studio, Brisbane from the 27th of March to the 4th of April 2010.  The reason I mention ‘hopefully’ is that we had such a great turn-out of prints that there may just be not enough room in MSS to hang them all!!  But we shall see, I’m heading down to help Pat with the installation in Tasmania this week for the opening on Friday the 26th of February so I will be able to gauge how much room will be needed (never fear, I also booked an alternative space for the Brisbane exhibition in advance just in case something like this happened!).

Will keep the blog updated on how the opening in Franklin goes and exactly how overrun my space will be if I decide we can squeeze it in to Myrtle Street Studio…  In the meantime, here is more information below on the exhibition in Franklin and if you live in Tasmania I hope I get to see you on the opening night!
