Behind The Scenes…

Any good idea involves the help of many hands to get it off the ground, and Myrtle Street Studio is no exception.  I’d like to share with you some of the people who have made this space possible.

Without doubt, MSS would never have got any further than an idea doodled into my diary (and mulled over at length) if it weren’t for the talents of Rebecca Thompson – a dear friend and life coach with her very own business, Elevation.  Bec’s amazing coaching talents were just what I needed to gain focus and propel the idea of this space into existence.

Stewart Smith, of Smith Architects lent us his time and knowledge in the design of the space and has been invaluable in coming up with novel ways to pack everything my brief proposed in while still retaining an open plan.  I am looking forward to the construction phase now with Pat, our builder and Matt+Aaron our joiners with Stewarts’ ongoing assistance as overseer of the job!

I don’t know how to thank the next person enough!  Ashley Oostdyck is a multi-talented lady – fantastic graphic designer, photographer extraordinaire and all round great friend.  With her assistance (way above and totally beyond the call of duty) the design work, web holding page and blog (including all the photography) were all completed with almost telepathic understanding of my requirements!  David Perkins and his web wizardry (knocked out in the shortest of time frames) also deserve a mention here.

I’d also like to acknowledge the valuable input of my Creative Talents Networking Group and close friends – a bunch of very strong, able ladies who are all forging their own  creative paths and inspire me to keep pushing forward with my own efforts too.  Thank you Thea, KT, Cath, Georgina, Susan, Susannah, Alarna, Jo, M, Jess, Mandy and Michelle

A big thank you also goes out to the team at Artworkers Alliance, especially the assistance of Pia Robinson in getting the information I needed to work out the business end of owning Myrtle Street Studio.  Megan and Ellie, your contributions were invaluable and greatly appreciated too.

And finally, to my partner Peter Ward, without whose support none of this would have happened at all.
