Welcome to Myrtle Street Studio!

September 11, 2009

Hello there!  Myrtle Street Studio is the brain child of Jay Dee Dearness – an emerging artist who works primarily in paper and print based media.  Having travelled extensively and noted the lack of appropriate gallery opportunities available both locally and nationally for these types of works from the emerging arts community, a plan was hatched…  To create a space which truly suited the intimate scale of this art while providing the public with an accessible space in which to view and learn more about it.  This blog has been created as a way for artists and the public alike to engage in the development of Myrtle Street Studio over the coming months as it progresses and develops into what we hope will be a really beautiful and unique space to show off what contemporary print and paper media from these emerging communities is really all about!  We hope you enjoy the journey with us.
