Back In Motion!

Thanks to everyone’s supportive comments last week regarding the hiccup in our construction for Myrtle Street Studio. I am very happy to be able to tell you that we are back in construction mode! After more than one stiff drink after finding out how much it was going to cost to rebuild what was already visually there, we have made the leap and are now back on track – well almost….
With the week of delays + the extra time it will take to get the slab and walls rebuilt, we are now behind schedule. Due to be completed in late December we were hoping to open MSS in February 2010. With construction now expected not to be completed till the end of February next year, we will have to reschedule the opening. I’m not taking chances this time and am considering putting off the opening till mid-year to make sure that even if there are further delays, we can still open at this time. Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this as I’m hoping to get the exhibition and launch dates up next week for those wishing to exhibit!
In the meantime, you can visit here to see more on how the studio is coming along.
It’s a toughie as construction is never on schedule. I guess you will have a better idea in a couple of months?
Thanks Thea and yes, it might be better to wait till the end of the year before making further plans.
Great to hear things are going ahead Jay Dee! Time will pass quickly dont worry. If you have all the planning ready …why not work out how many weeks between the studio being finished and notice you need to give everyone…and just roll it out as soon as you know.
As far as exhibitions go…many galleries experience someone dropping out or changing plans and somehow find a back up plan so the show can go on.
You’ve been very productive…interesting work happenning!
I’d best go comment on your other blog!
ciao,
Sophie
Hi Sophie! Thanks for your comments and yes, I’m keeping on planning what I can in the meantime so it will be ready to go when completed. xx
